Billingsley Creek Fish report

June 12, 2011

Billinsley Creek is very fishable right now with BWO's and Caddis in the eve.  Look for a good showing of PMD"s in the late morning.  When there look for trout that are podded up and feeding or obvious feeding lanes.  Be sure to have the appropriate emerger pattern that you can fish just under the surface.

March 25. 2011

Big B. is closed until Memorial day weekend.

Aug. 26, 2010

Evening Caddis hatch is worth the effort for large trout.  Cast to feeding trout using either an Elk Hair Caddis with a Caddis emerger or use two Caddis emerger patterns in tandem with a strike indicator about three feet above the first emerger.  Set the hook when you see a fish rise near your strike indicator.

Billingsley is just about right now.  PMD's and Baetis during the day and Caddis at night.  Use an Elk Hair Caddis dropped with a Caddis Emerger for the evenings and you should do quite well.  The creek is at a good level and the fish are active.

June 1, 2010

B Creek is tough right now.  PMD's, Baetis and Caddis are on the menu at Billingsley Creek right now.  You really need to hunt this creek and work to feeding trout.  Take the time to be patient and fish as slow as you can and you should be rewarded by some big trout.

Closed until Memorial Day Weekend

October 27, 2009

Baetis and Midges are going to be your flies of choice on the creek.  Caddis and Terrestrials are pretty much over for the season.  With the shorter days you need to be on the creek when the day starts to warm up.

October 7, 2009

Baetis and Midges are the food of choice here but still be sure to put Hoppers and Caddis on the menu at Billingsley Creek.  The early mornings and late afternoon to early evenings are the best time to fish this creek.

September 23, 2009

Fishing is still steady with a few PMD's in the afternoon along with some Callibaetis.  Evenings you will see a few Caddis and fish rising to them.  It's still a good creek to fish this time of year.

September 15, 2009

Part of the Trifecta of the Hagerman Valley (Malad River, Billingsley and Riley Creeks) Billingsley Creek is doing pretty good after a hot August and September.  Now is the time to start thinking about spending a little more time in the Hagerman Valley.  With three fine trout streams flowing through the Valley the area is now just starting to come into it's best fishing time of the year.

September 4, 2009

The water flows are excellent.  If you want to fish someplace with little pressure try Billingsley Creek.  It will only get better as the weather cools down some.

August 24, 2009

Billingsley Creek is still fishing good.  A good floating devise will get you down to where the fishing is best.  The early mornings and early evenings are best.

August 17, 2009

Recent reports are coming in from Billingsley Creek  a saying outstanding evening fishing.  Just down from the farm entrance the evening Caddis hatch is quite large.  Why not fish the Malad during the day and Billingsley Creek in the evening?

August 5, 2009

Not much has changed.  Fishing is pretty good with excellent water levels and clarity.  Afternoon PMD's and evening Caddis are the orders!

July 22, 2009

Billingsley Creek is fishing quite well right now.  Caddis and PMD's are the main bugs the trout are noticing.  This Creek is best fished using some sort of floatation devise or canoe.  The best time of day to be on the creek is in the morning and early evening.
